Administrator of Internal Training
I've been training since: 2004
I've been with SA since: 2002
Having always had a passion for helping and teaching others, I explored many career fields after graduating college. When I fell upon Service Alternatives, I knew I had found my niche. I started with the company as an employment specialist; I was teaching adults with disabilities how to excel in their jobs. I soon learned of internal training opportunities within the company and explored my options.
For many years, I have worked in dual roles, being able to work directly with clients and also train our employees and external customers. It is exciting to be the Administrator for internal training because I have the opportunity to ensure our employees are receiving the best and most appropriate training to help them excel within Service Alternatives. I have found that I enjoy helping people discover their best way to learn; whether that’s someone learning their job tasks or someone trying to get the most out of a class. I have been able to not only train our employees, but develop the curriculum to do so. I have had the opportunity to cater to team’s needs and develop trainings that work specifically for them.
I love spending time with my family and being outdoors. I also enjoy sewing, cooking, and watching a great movie (of which I have varied tastes).

What does training mean to me?
Training should be an interaction. I believe we learn best from our experiences and any 'training' or 'class' or 'course' that we go to should allow us to build from our experiences and those of our fellow classmates. My desire is that anyone leaving a Service Alternatives training has had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and capacity for growth and will gain long-term results from that training experience.
